Poor water quality with manifestations of weed and or algae is generally
attributable to an excess of nutrients. We always look at the bigger picture aiming for a long term balance with
minimal man management. Consequently at AWM we offer a range of management options to reduce the excess of nutrients
and restore a balance to the body of water. These include dredging works to remove bulk nutrient, the use of
bacterial cultures to reduce water nutrient and the introduction of a variety of aquatic planting which is sometimes incorporated
into rafts and harvested annually. Where effective restoration to a more healthy balance is not possible we offer
the alternative management options of mechanical removal of weed and algae by harvesting boat for rooted weed, skimming the
surface of the water for floating weed such as duckweed or chemical treatments. Chemical maintenance packages
are also offered for static water features which require no vegetation such as those in office complexes, business parks and
shopping centres.
