This stretch of the Letcombe Brook in Wantage, Oxfordshire had been neglected over the years and the old wall had failed in several places making it un-safe. As a well used public space the new revetment was designed in a robust fashion to withstand encouraged public access to the bank whilst creating new marginal habitat along the brook.

The old wall is removed along the entire stretch and the gabion baskets are installed along the new bank line and filled with limestone.

A timber waling is attached along the front face of the baskets.

The finished transition detail with the remains of the original wall produces a usefull set of duck access steps.
